Eagle Valley Muzzleloaders & Lake's Crossing Muzzleloaders
Lake's Crossing Muzzleloaders was established in 1977 to promote traditional black powder shooting, safe gun handling, marksmanship and the preservation of the historical significance of the Western Fur trade era. We are a group dedicated to the study of firearms, clothing, methods and culture of the fur trapping and westward expansion of American history, primarily 1800–1840s.
Eagle Valley Muzzleloaders, a Carson City-based ‘Mountain Man’ club founded in 1992, is one of four groups in Nevada promoting and organizing Living History Encampments and re-enactments of the Fur Trade Era (Mountain Man) from 1800–1850s, after Lewis and Clark came west from St Louis. Named for the valley we live in and the firearms we use, our group advocates and preserves historic black powder rifles and pistols — firearms loaded from the muzzle of the firearm, not from the breach like modern weapons. We promote two types: Percussion which uses a brass cap on a nipple, and flintlock which uses a hard rock scraping a hardened frizzen to produce a spark that ignites the black powder in the pan.

Wild Ass WomenWild Donkey & Mustang Adoption Awareness Promotion Group
The Wild Ass Women are a group of fun, long-eared loving women and men that are trying to spread the word about wild burro and mustang adoption.
Through humor and public education we let people know that these equines are wonderful companions and can do anything that their domestic cousins can do.
If you are insterested in supporting adoptions of wild burros and mustangs, please check out the Wild Horse & Burro Expo website with whom we are associated.
